Local Entrepreneurs Urge Small Businesses to Apply for Comcast’s RISE Program on Houston TV

Houston Life

The application window for Comcast’s small business support program is open now through May 31.

Small businesses are the fabric of Houston’s local economy, and many times resources to help them thrive can be limited. Enter Comcast RISE, a business support program that provides grants, technology makeovers, marketing support, business consulting and education to small business owners across the country. Starting May 1, business owners in the greater Houston area were able to apply for the help.

On Wednesday, previous Comcast RISE winners, 132 Design and Valentino Salon, appeared on KPRC-2’s Houston Life and KHOU-11’s Great Day Houston to share their experiences with the program and how it helped them take their business to the next level.

In August, 100 Houston area small businesses will be named this year’s Comcast RISE winners and will each receive $5,000, a technology makeover from Comcast Business, marketing support (a 30-second advertisement), business consulting and educational help.

To be eligible, businesses must have the following:

  • Independently owned and operated
  • In business for at least three years
  • Have no more than 100 employees (part-time or full-time)
  • Based in the Houston area

Comcast RISE started in response to the pandemic and has awarded millions of dollars in grants to thousands of small businesses across America.
