Comcast, Telemundo Houston Donate Laptops and Internet to PART Houston
Telemundo Houston, in partnership with Comcast’s Internet Essentials program donated 20 laptops with free internet connection for one year to Pan American Round Table (PART) Houston, an organization designed to offer educational opportunities to young deserving women and to promote knowledge, friendship, and understanding among the people of the Americas.
Friday, January 28, KTMD News Anchor Antonio Hernandez joined by KTMD President & General Manager Tony Canales, presented the laptops. PART Houston was represented by their Executive Director, board member, and former scholarship recipients.
The laptops will benefit PART Houston scholarship recipients this Spring. The scholarships are awarded annually to Hispanic female students graduating from an accredited Houston-area High School or Charter School.
Over the past 79 years PART Houston has championed education by awarding over $300,000 in scholarships to local high-achieving Latina girls.
More than 300 former scholarship recipients have now become professionals in STEM, business, public service and medicine. Most have returned to serve on the board, donate and participate in developing a network of alumni community leaders.
Comcast’s Internet Essentials initiative will donate more that 2,000 laptops with free internet connection in an effort to encourage education and provide resources to your, students, and adults in Latinx communities.
