From Pencils to Pixels: Comcast Connects Texas Classrooms and Communities

The local Comcast team has been busy helping students start the 2025–26 school year strong with hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations and support for more than 34,000 families across 23 school districts and students at seven area colleges. From backpacks to broadband, we’ve covered everything from A to Z as more than a million students returned to classrooms across the Greater Houston Region.

Here’s a look at some of the incredible moments:

🎒Alvin ISD

Comcasters rolled up their sleeves for Operation Backpack, helping more than 3,700 students gear up for the new year. Each backpack came packed with supplies and information about our Internet Essentials program, which helps families stay connected.

🧠 Arc of Fort Bend County

At our Sugar Land Xfinity store, volunteers stuffed bags full of school supplies for the Arc of Fort Bend County. That organization supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Families were able to pick up their bags at the Arc’s school supply event on July 26.

🏥 BakerRipley

In Pasadena, our team joined BakerRipley’s Health Fair & Back to School Bash, handing out bags filled with essentials to help families prepare for the school year.

💻 Brazoria County Dream Center

We also partnered with Aspen Utility Company to open a new Lift Zone computer lab in Clute. More than 1,000 families received school supplies at the Brazoria County Dream Center’s event.

✏️ Danbury ISD

Comcasters proudly supported Danbury ISD with donations of school supplies to help hundreds of students start the year off right.

🏫 Houston ISD

Our volunteers even joined Houston ISD’s back-to-school event, where 1,000+ families received supplies and support.

🏙️ City of Houston Mayor’s Back 2 School & Health Fair

We were honored to be a top sponsor at this massive event on August 2, which served more than 20,000 families in need.

💈Humble ISD

In Humble ISD, Comcast is supporting a grant to power up Kingwood High School’s robotics program. Comcast also supported two exciting back-to-school events in the district – one hosted by HAAM (the Humble Area Assistance Ministries) and another called Barbers and Backpacks, where kids received fresh haircuts and free supplies.

💻 KIPP Public Charter Schools

We teamed up with KIPP and Compudopt to distribute 200 free laptops to students. Families also received swag bags and info on affordable internet options.

💰 Our Commitment

Comcast Texas is also donating to these school districts and education foundations:
Aldine, Angleton, Brazosport, Channelview, Cleveland, Conroe, Galena Park, Galveston, Houston, KIPP, Huntsville, Montgomery, Navasota, New Caney, Pasadena, Sheldon, Spring, Texas City, and Waller ISDs.

We also sponsored convocations in Pasadena ISD and Montgomery ISD, helping welcome back teachers and staff for the new school year.

🎓 Supporting Higher Education

Comcast Texas is proud to support seven colleges and universities across Southeast Texas with grant funding: Alvin College, Galveston College, Houston Community College, Lone Star College, San Jacinto College, Texas Southern University, and Blinn College, where we helped upgrade equipment for their E-Sports Department.

We hope students across Texas, their parents, and teachers have a wonderful year ahead!
