Comcast Names Melinda Little to Lead External Affairs in Texas

Comcast today announced that Melinda Little has been named Vice President of External Affairs for the company’s Texas Region. In her new role, Little will lead the region’s local government affairs, impact and inclusion and external communications teams. She will be based in Houston and report to Jose Espinel, Regional Senior Vice President for Comcast Texas.
“Melinda not only brings nearly a decade of experience in the telecommunications industry, she’s also a trusted and proud Houstonian with a long family lineage of Texas politics,” said Espinel. “We welcome Melinda back to Texas with open arms, and we are sure the community will do the same. I can’t wait to see the impact she will make that will ultimately serve our communities and customers.”
Little returns to Comcast’s Texas Region after serving in two vice president roles in the Company’s Central Division. In 2023, Little served as the Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs in Comcast’s Big South Region, leading the government affairs and community impact teams focused on broadband expansion, franchising, digital opportunity, and community outreach across the southeast. In 2021, Little was named as Vice President of Government Affairs at the company’s Central Division Headquarters in Atlanta. Prior to this, she was Comcast’s Senior Director of Government Affairs in Houston and oversaw regulatory, franchising and public policy matters.

We have it all with this Texas team, and I can’t wait to roll my sleeves up and get to work.”
Little has dedicated her time to serving Houstonians. She was a board member of the Houston Public Library Foundation and served on the Montrose Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 27/Montrose Redevelopment Board, created by the late Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. She is also a past Chairman of the Texas Cable Association.
In 2021, Little was honored by the HEART Program with the ‘Making Change/ Changing Hearts’ Award and was named one of Houston Magazine’s 50 Most Influential Women in 2018. She is a proud graduate of the University of Houston.
