Navasota Bookstore Looking to Turn Page on Unreliable Internet Service

Suzette Linnenbank and her husband were very selective about choosing the perfect town and location to open Muddy Water Bookstore. Six years ago, the couple found just the right spot on E. Washington Street in Navasota for their indie bookstore. Linnenbank quickly discovered the plot twist: that the internet service in her quaint town was unreliable.

Linnenbank said operating the only bookstore in Navasota hasn’t been without challenges. The bookworm, who reads multiple books at a time, said her internet service is always spotty. Linnenbank said waiting for the system to reboot inconveniences her customers wanting to check out.

“It’s very important to have reliable internet access to run my business,” Linnenbank said. “I can’t sell a book without internet, I can’t take a payment without internet, every facet of this business, everything relies on reliable internet.”

Having the Xfinity and Comcast networks being built in her town could be a heroic tale. Comcast began expanding broadband access to Navasota several weeks ago.
