Hempstead Donut Kings Ready for Fresh Internet Service

King's Donuts, Hempstead

The owners of King’s Donuts in Hempstead can’t wait to upgrade their internet service provider. The business, which opened its doors in 2019, heard the sweet news that Comcast is currently bringing its Xfinity residential and Comcast Business services to the Waller County community.

Rey Salvador is one of the co-owners of the family-run business. Salvador’s parents and sister also work at the shop, which specializes in donuts, kolaches, tamales and conchas — a Mexican sweet bread.

“We came up with the name for King’s Donuts as a translation for me and my dad’s name. I’m Rey, and he’s Rey, which in Spanish means king,” Salvador said.

Salvador said he’s excited the tech leader is expanding its network to Hempstead. Given Comcast’s reputation for fast speeds and reliable service, Salvador said King’s Donuts will be one of the first businesses in the area to sign up.

“We rely on the Internet for a lot of things such as our payment system and our online orders. With our current internet being a little spotty some times, some days it works, some days it’s really slow. It really impacts the way that we do our business,” he said.
