500 HISD Students Empowered by Comcast TechPak Event for STEM Career Day

Nearly 500 school students recently attended Comcast TechPak at Houston Community College. The elementary, middle and high school students gathered with professionals in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fields to engage their critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills to create things like Lego engineering aviation, App coding and drone operations.

Events like Comcast TechPak are geared towards youth that are from underserved Hispanic communities and can receive exposure to professionals working in STEM fields. The students received hand-on learning participation that connects them with real-life examples of where their STEM studies could lead into their careers.

The daylong event was coordinated by the Houston Hispanic Forum, creators of Career & Education Day, and sponsored by Comcast and Webtropolis to ignite interest in STEM learning.
